5 Key Tips for Planning a Perfect Bachelorette Party

July 18, 2018

Planning a bachelorette party can be very stressful, expensive, and time consuming. If you are planning one, it probably means you are best friends with the bride, which can add even more stress since you want her last fling to be perfect.

As a wedding planner, I am always asked “what are some fun bachelorette party ideas?” My advice is to think about the bride and what she loves most. Then you can base the entire party around that.

Step 1- Choose a Theme

I just recently planned a bachelorette party with my best friend for our other best friend who just got married last weekend!! We knew she loved going to the lake, so we decided to make it a nautical themed party! Yes a white bride swim suit and sailor sash was a definite must.

Tip- Get on Etsy and have fun buying customized decor! You don’t have to break the bank to find cute personalized items! Your bestie will be so touched to see her name on everything and all the thought and care you put into all the little details!

Step 2- Pick a Budget

My oh my parties can get expensive! Don’t let the budget stress you out. Remember that all her friends are being invited and would love to chip in to make this celebration so special. Don’t be afraid to reach out and divide expenses between everyone. They will be happy to help and it will lessen the burden allowing you to add more activities and decor than you could have done by yourself!

A couple of areas you can split the cost….. #1 Housing #2 Food #3 Alcohol (BYOB everyone?!) #4 Cleaning Fee #5 Group activities

When splitting those costs, it allows you to spend some more money on decor and special touches that will transform the space and make the bride feel overwhelmed with gratitude!

Step 3- Get the Date Selected Way in Advance

Because you are inviting so many ladies to attend, the longer they have to plan for it, the more attendance there will be. A lot of bachelorette parties happen in the summer, which can be such a crazy time for everyone. Whether they have to get work off, plan for a babysitter, save for contributing to the weekend financially, or whatever it may be, giving them enough time makes for a smooth and easy lead up to the party.

Step 4- Plan Activities

Have you ever been to a party that has nothing going on and no plans? If you have, you know how boring that can be. All you do is sit around and drink. As the host, plan a few fun and adventurous activities for all the girls to partake in. It will take the stress off of you having to think of games on the spot and help fill the time. Activities also take the ladies away from heavily drinking which in the along run, everyone will be thankful for.

Step 5- Don’t Over think it and Have Fun

As long as you put thought and care into planning, she will be so touched. Don’t over think it and stress yourself out. This is the last fling for your bestie and she just wants to have fun! Pop the champs and sip that rose and have the best night ever. Remember this is the last girls night as a single for her, so enjoy every second. Before you know it, she will be married and won’t be available for that next sleepover cause she’s got hubs at home.

Cheers,

Ashley

Time flies when you are a new home owner with constant projects 🤪 When we built our home we really wanted it to be a safe space. A warm place that our friends and family can come over and feel so at home that they stay for hours. Being stuck at home this year has showed us that it isn’t necessarily what your house looks like or all the unfinished projects, but rather the people that make your house a home.

This ensures your drink will still be there when you get back 💫

It took a team of many from lighting to rentals to heaters to tables and chairs to bathrooms and cutting trees down...All the little things that play a big part in the success of an event. I love that I constantly am being taught new ways to think about different event factors. For example, testing the power to make sure it is enough to power and entire outdoor kitchen. Thanks @mangia_catering Measuring tree branches to make sure they aren’t too low so it won’t damage trucks delivering rentals. Backup heaters in case some don’t work. Every event comes with a different list of elements to think through. And go figure when I think I’ve thought of everything something new presents it self. 📸 @emilystarpoole
I feels like Christmas when I receive an email wit I feels like Christmas when I receive an email with a client’s wedding photos... Especially when I go back multiple years with this special client. Karel was the MOH in a past client’s wedding and told me many times that when she gets engaged she will be hiring me to design and plan her wedding. As a business owner, there isn’t a bigger compliment than this. Fast forward to when she got engaged and called me right away. My excitement was through the roof. An added bonus was my past client was also her MOH! Mini reunion for us all. It was an absolutely privilege to share in this special wedding. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again “if you hire me we will become friends” . All my love to Karel and Chris . More photos coming soon!
